We are proud to inform you that our Nurse Aide Program is fully licensed by the State Board of Community Colleges, ensuring that our program meets and exceeds the rigorous standards set by the state for nurse aide education. This licensure is a testament to our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of education, training, and patient care.
Our program is 132 hours which includes 83 hours of theory and 40 hours of clinical practice at UNC.

What can I expect to learn during training?
Basic Nursing Skills
Taking and recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
Assisting with personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, oral care)
Dressing and undressing patients
Turning and positioning patients to prevent bedsores
Feeding assistance (including use of feeding tubes in some cases)
Measuring and recording food and fluid intake/output
Proper hand hygiene
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Cleaning and disinfecting equipment and environments
Isolation procedures
Fire safety and evacuation procedures
Fall prevention techniques
Using safety devices (bed rails, wheelchairs)
Responding to emergencies (CPR/basic first aid)
Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team
Observing and reporting changes in patient condition
Documentation and charting
Understanding HIPAA and patient confidentiality
Respecting patient dignity and autonomy
Cultural sensitivity and non-discrimination
Abuse prevention and reporting
Supporting mobility and ambulation
Toileting and incontinence care
Providing assistance with meals and nutrition
Understanding dementia, Alzheimer's, and other cognitive disorders
Supporting emotional and social well-being
Techniques for dealing with difficult behaviors
Providing end-of-life care and comfort

Basic understanding of body systems and functions
Common diseases and conditions
Clinical Experience (Hands-on Training)
